The network welcomes you to celebrate the release of our setting, Grotesque.
As a gift, we present applicable supplemental material to use when the players stumble upon one of the many brutal slayings they’ll happen upon during their night at the Port of Ludington Maritime Museum.
Bonus Gruesome Corpse Table — Ten ways to announce how a person has died: | |
---|---|
01 – Head Crush: | The deceased has had its head-beef spattered across the floor in thick strands of gore. |
02 – Torn Apart: | The remnants of a human body lay here, and there, and over there. Thick viscera layers the floorboards like pizza sauce, speckled by sinewy pepperoni. |
03 – Torso Crush: | The torso lay crushed, with shattered ribs jutting out and messy strands of flesh and organs spilling from the chest like grotesque, blood-soaked kebobs. |
04 – Strangled: | Body is intact — whew — but the neck is violently twisted at unnatural angles, leaving the head grotesquely askew. |
05 – Mangled: | The body was mangled beyond recognition, limbs twisted and bent in unnatural ways that made you wonder if they were ever this flexible in life. |
06 – Stabbed: | The body lay pierced by a nearby implement—whether a pirate sword or a coat rack was anyone’s guess—its lifeless form impaled with brutal precision. |
07 – Decapitated: | The body lay headless, the clean decapitation leaving a disturbingly smooth stump where the neck once connected to the shoulders. Where’d it go? Is the statue holding something now? |
08 – Defenestrated: | The body lay crumpled below, twisted and broken from the fall, a grim testament to its violent defenestration. Did they see the body fall past a window? Do they witness it over the edge of the balcony? |
09 – Organs Crushed: | The body had a gaping hole where something had torn through and crushed a major organ, leaving behind a waterfall of gore, while the corpse’s face remained frozen in a horrifying grimace. |
10 – Throat Ripped: | Fresh crimson spills out from the torn neck of the body, layering the clothing in sticky, hot blood. It’s throat splays open, shredded jugular still leaking. |
11 – At Peace: | In the quiet of the night, the corpse appeared eerily serene, marred only by its twisted limbs and the dark pool of blood slowly spreading beneath it. |
12 – Limbless: | The body is unnervingly dismembered, its limbs conspicuously absent, leaving a hauntingly incomplete form behind. |
